The Slavicis Manifesto

Slavicis is a Geneva-based think tank that provides a platform for cultural action to mobilize Slavic communities in Switzerland, Europe and throughout the World in favor of the Neoslavist idea and the development of a Slavic identity. Slavicis works to educate the general public about Slavic cultural contributions to the advancement of Europe and humanity.

The development and promotion of a Slavic identity can only be carried out with mutual respect to the traditions.
Slavicis supports the formulation of an identity that is based on local, regional, national and continental affiliations. Recognizing that the growth of the global market is leading to the standardization of lifestyles, traditions, cultures and languages, Slavicis strives to help develop and maintain a distinct sense of Slavic and European belonging. Slavicis also advocates a strong relation between the Slavic cultural space and other realms of Europe. Additionally, Slavicis supports social and identity-based liberation movements on other continents while remaining strongly opposed to racism and supremacism.

Slavicis reaffirms the importance of environmental sustainability in order to impart a livable world to future generations. Questioning the alleged benefits of financial liberalism and globalization as well as the myth of growth is an important step towards promoting a lifestyle mindful of the environment.

Slavicis strongly values the deep-rooted Christian traditions that played an important role in the cultural development of Europe. Slavicis intends to work towards unity among Christians and, in particular, to overcome the schism of 1054 between the Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church. Unlike some forms of ancient panslavism, Slavicis strongly contests the idea that a group of Slavs hold a moral authority on others. Slavic also rejects any religious supremacism but remains committed to the Christian faith.

Slavicis acknowledges and shares a common ancestry with many nations of Western, Central and Eastern Europe and Caucasus through the Indo-European connection. Aware of the conflicts that have ravaged the continent, Slavicis works towards the pacification of persistent tensions between groups of Slavs, such as those between Serbs and Croats, as well as between non-Slavic people, such as Romanians and Hungarians. Slavicis also seeks to bring awareness to the plight of Serbs in Kosovo.

Slavicis is a movement that advocates for equality among all Slavs and the recognition of their autonomy as well as their political and cultural rights. Each group of Slavic people must be able to develop culturally, economically and politically while maintaining the ideals of cultural cooperation. Our Neoslavist approach calls for the formation of Slavic communities that are based on the principles of direct democracy, subsidiarity and social justice.

Slavicis shares with many nations of Western Europe, Central and Eastern Caucasus its common belonging to the Indo-Europeans family. To this end, Slavicis will also work towards the pacification of the persistent tensions between Serbs and Croats but also between non-Slavic peoples, as Romanians and Hungarians, and alarming the public opinion about the situation of Serbs in Kosovo.
